Samantha Hutchins Celebrant

Luxury Weddings · Elopements · Life Celebrations · Kent, London & Beyond

Not a script.A portrait.

A private, independent celebrant for couples who want something a little different. A ceremony that feels unmistakably you. Your story, your people, your way. More you, less should. No beige, no ‘fine’ and absolutely no boring bits. Just a beautifully crafted celebration, full of personality, joy and a little bit of magic, the kind that stays with you and your guests, long after the last glass is raised.

The Philosophy

Guided by wonder, curiosity and joy

These three words sit at the heart of every ceremony I write. They remind me to listen without assumption, to ask the questions that reveal the real story and to lead the room with warmth rather than performance.

Today that work is weddings and elopements. In time it will extend to celebrations of life, because the craft is the same: to hold a room, tell the truth beautifully, and let people feel something they will carry for years.

Wonder

Approaching every ceremony as if it were the first story I've ever heard

Curiosity

Asking the questions that uncover the small details worth sharing

Joy

Bringing warmth, lightness and celebration into every moment

Ceremonies

Music

Music doesn’t simply accompany a ceremony. It defines the atmosphere.

It can transform the moment you arrive, fill a space with anticipation, bring an unexpected sense of drama or create the kind of stillness that gives everyone goosebumps. The right music becomes part of the memory.

After more than 30 years as a professional musician, I bring a unique understanding of how music can shape a moment. My career has taken me to some of the world’s great opera houses and concert halls, as well as film studios, television, radio and many beautiful weddings.

I would love to help you curate the musical atmosphere for your celebration, from the first notes your guests hear to the final moments of your ceremony. Together, we can create a sound that feels effortless, beautiful and entirely yours. And I can help connect you with exceptional musicians who will bring that vision to life.

Arrival

Setting the tone before a single word is spoken.

Stillness

Creating goosebump moments in the quiet spaces.

Celebration

A sound entirely yours, played by exceptional musicians.

Rituals & Extras

A little something extra?

This is where the ceremony becomes unmistakably yours. A traditional handfasting. A candle or sand ceremony, blending two lives into one gesture. A flower ceremony, gathering blooms from everyone who matters most.

Or something entirely of your own invention, a ritual that says something specific about the two of you, your families, the life you’re building. If it needs to involve a perfectly timed martini, I'll grab the shaker.

Handfasting

A timeless binding of hands and intentions.

Candle or Sand

Blending light or sand as one.

Flower Ceremony

Gathering blooms from those you love.

There really are no rules. We can create a moment that reflects who you are, what you love and the life you’re bringing together. Children, parents, grandparents, best friends and the wider family can all be part of it too, if that’s what feels right.

Meaningful, joyful, slightly unexpected, whatever suits the two of you.

Dream Something Up

Kind Words

“As our celebrant Samantha, through her caring calm reassurance and encouragement, curated an incredible celebration… she really took time to get to know us, constantly checking that everything was perfect.
The service was so beautifully written and delivered, the first thing I did at the end was to hug her. We will always be grateful.”

Investment

An experience, not a transaction

Every ceremony starts with a blank page and a beautiful black pen. I weave your story, your humour, your journey, your joyful memories, your meaningful moments, your hopes and your dreams into a feeling that is joyfully and unmistakably you.

Questions

The things couples usually ask

A completely bespoke script written from your story, guidance on vows, readings and symbolic rituals, a rehearsal if you would like one and delivery on the day. The tone is entirely yours: intimate, playful, traditional, or surprising.

Most couples confirm their date between nine and eighteen months in advance, especially for summer Saturdays and popular destinations. But please do check if you’re looking for something sooner. I love a whirlwind wedding or a ‘we just can’t wait’ marriage emergency!

In England and Wales, celebrant-led ceremonies are not currently legal marriages on their own. Most couples complete the legal registration at a registry office separately, then have the full personal ceremony with me on their wedding day. I will guide you on how this works. Once the paperwork is done we are free to create a you-shaped celebration that has no boundaries and can take place anywhere (with the landowner's permission), from castles to forests, your grandparents' garden to the bike-shed where you shared your first kiss.

Yes, absolutely. I adore supporting my couples in bringing their dreams alive all over Europe and potentially further afield. Send me a message and we can discuss your vision.

The structure is the same, both are bespoke and written just for you. A wedding usually involves guests and a larger day-of flow; an elopement is intentionally intimate, often with just the two of you and a handful of witnesses. Both are treated with the same care.

Absolutely. I provide prompts, examples and one-to-one feedback so your vows feel natural and true, never awkward or performative.

Yes, in 2027. The same principles of wonder, curiosity and joy will shape gatherings that honour a life well lived with warmth, story and music. Join the waiting list to hear first when dates open.

I am based in Kent, covering London and throughout the UK. I also adore travelling abroad for destination weddings and elopements.
